Wild Hill Flowers and Events has some exciting news! Our owner, Jenni Koch, has recently stepped up to assume the role of volunteer Executive Director of Unexpected Blooms! Wild Hill has had the opportunity to witness the amazing impact of Unexpected Blooms in the KC area over the past few years. We have had numerous brides donate their wedding flowers to Unexpected Blooms and have seen the joy it brings to people in healthcare facilities. We greatly admire the work and love the Founders, Cameron and Carolyn Elliott, put into this organization and we look forward to continuing to deliver unexpected moments of kindness around Kansas City!
A little background on Unexpected Blooms:
Unexpected Blooms is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to positively affect the emotional wellbeing of our community by delivering repurposed and recycled flowers to create smiles and spread joy to individuals in healthcare facilities throughout Kansas City. Flowers are generously donated from weddings, memorial services, charity, corporate and private events, florists and retailers. Our volunteers recut, refresh and reuse those flowers to create beautiful bouquets that we deliver to brighten someone's day. We work hand-in-hand with healthcare, hospice, senior resident and social service communities throughout our city to touch people's lives.
How it works:
See below for the actual process of taking #WildHillBride Allie’s beautiful wedding flowers and repurposing them to bring an unexpected moment of kindness to residents at Olathe Health Hospice House!
1. Fill out our floral donation form on our website prior to your wedding or event!
2. We will contact you to arrange a time for you to drop off flowers at our shop or for us to pick them up at the end of your event, if available!
3. Our volunteers will recut, refresh and reuse those flowers to create beautiful bedside bouquets!
4. Our volunteers deliver the arrangements to a healthcare facility in the area! We make sure every patient/resident gets an arrangement!

Our volunteers are compassionate and giving individuals who care about bringing joy into the lives of others. It's their smiles along with the beautiful bouquets they create and deliver that bring joy to those who need it most. We have a wide variety of service opportunities, including: picking up flowers and vases, sorting and processing donated flowers, washing vases, creating beautiful bouquets, delivering bouquets, cleaning and organization, and helping with events!
