Overwhelmed about where to start when it comes to choosing wedding flowers? Here are 5 helpful tips to think about before you schedule a floral consultation!
1. DO decide on a budget
Setting a budget is not always the most fun part of planning your big day, but it is important! By giving us an accurate estimate of what you plan to spend on flowers, we can help you make the most of whatever you budget is! At your floral consultation we will suggest styles, flower types and more to fit your budget and wedding day!
Helpful tip: On average couples allot between 5%-15% of their total wedding budget to flowers, but all of this depends on what is most important to you on your big day! You can always increase your floral budget along the way, if your priorities change or if you end up saving in other areas!
2. DO start a Pinterest or mood board
Start a Pinterest board or gather some photos of colors and styles of flowers you like! This will help us get a feel for your vision! Let us know what you like and don’t like about the images you find (maybe you love the colors of one bouquet, but prefer the shape of another). We also love to hear about any other details you’ve decided on for your wedding: Tell us about your bridesmaid dress colors, details about your venue or even the type of cake you have chosen! We can help you pick glassware and flowers to work with all the details of your wedding!
3. DON’T feel like you need to have it all figured out
While photos and Pinterest ideas are helpful at your initial consultation, you don’t need to stress if you don’t have everything figured out! That’s what we are here for! We will talk through any details you are unsure about and develop a cohesive floral proposal to match your vision! Plus, we are always happy to make changes along the way! Want to add a bridesmaid or change your color scheme from blush to burgundy? No problem! We can make minor adjustments or even big stylistic changes to your proposal at anytime throughout the planning process!
4. DON’T stress about flower types
Don’t fret it you aren’t an expert on flowers and flower names! We design for our brides based on style and color preferences, as well as inspiration photos! It’s our job to know all about flower types, seasons, colors and more! We will put together the perfect mixture of blooms for your big day based on the inspiration you give us! Or if you do know specific flower types you want, we are happy to incorporate those into your floral arrangements, as well!
5. DO have fun & leave the rest to us!
